Yakuza in Love is a light novel authored by Molimi that was released in 2019 and is completed at 65 chapters. It has been adapted into a completed manhwa written by Molimi and illustrated by Dupal. Released in 2020, it has been published by Bomtoon, Lezhin, and Naver Series.

Synopsis[]

Min Joon thought studying abroad in Japan would mean the beginning his fabulous gay life. But instead, he’s scammed by his boyfriend, loses his passport and is basically screwed. What’s worse, a kid comes up to him calling him “mama” and before he knows it, he’s being kidnapped by the yakuza. Then the hot yakuza boss makes him an offer he can’t refuse… so now it’s either be “mama” to his little kid or to not live at all. What to do, what to do? And this yakuza boss is just too hot for his own good…

Min Joon[]

While he was naked and around evidently unfriendly people, he asked them to please not leave him as they walked away. Left alone with Daiki he questions if the others can come back and feels even more embarrassed with Daiki aware of his initial uncomfortableness. He wonders how Daiki cannot change his facial expression yet still be so handsome. Stating he is just an ordinary college student Min Joon thinks how he came to be captured by the yakuza. Min Joon is 22 and was born in Seoul, South Korea and came to Japan to study where he attends Tokyo University's department of nursing. Regarding a triangular kidnap Min Joon thinks how he used to buy them frequently and eat them with Taisei. Angered at how he was treated Min Joon cursed him and shouted in public how he was suffering right now but would not die. Thinking how they kissed Min Joon then considers himself a fool. Uneasy at men dressed in black Min Joon contemplates how they all look terrifying and considers fanciful ways he could die before also thinking how he misses his mother.

Daiki Joe[]

Sending out his men because Min Joon looked embarrassed Daiki proceeds to search him since he knows Toma. When he saw Toma addressing Min Joon as mama and not leaving Daiki orders them both to be taken. Aware of Min Joon’s background and uncertain of why Toma is calling him mama, Daiki elects to hire Min Joon until Toma can recognize that he is not his mom. After resolving Min Joon’s financial issues Daiki also says he can kill Taisei if Min Joon wants. With Min Joon not wanting that, Daiki asks at once whether it is because he loves him.

Hearing from Min Joon that he is not his mother contrary to his impression Toma begins crying and announces he wants mama.

Taisei Kato[]

After dating Min Joon for six months he broke off contact with him. Taisei was born in Yamanashi Prefecture and is noted as being 23, unemployed and famous for gambling in the Shinjuku area. His mother passed away last year yet before that Taisei pleaded with Min Joon to sign a contract purportedly since he could not afford the hospital this time and his mother could be kicked out.

Within an office Daiki interrogates Min Joon before ordering the men stood around to find details on someone called Taisei. With them gone searches Min Joon for suspected recording devices. A few hours before, Min Joon thought how Taisei borrowed money from some mobsters and even stole his passport. When yakuza members were running towards him Min Joon found himself hugged by someone calling him momma.^[1] With Toma not relinquishing Min Joon they were both brought back. Presently it is raised how Min Joon owes 1 million Won to Yamamoto finance. Taisei's actions are discussed, and Daiki means to give Min Joon his passport back, with debt settlement, tuition support and once the contract is complete, he will also give severance pay.^[2]
