If you have not yet received a student Chromebook from the district, you can get access to Launchpad/Clever from the DeKalb County School District website. After opening the DeKalb County School District website, scroll to the bottom of the page to find the icons for the virtual learning tools.

1. To open Launchpad/Clever, click on the orange rocket (pictured below)

2. After you are logged into Launchpad/Clever, you can open Verge by clicking on the orange and blue "V" (pictured below)

After logging into Launchpad/Clever, you will be able to access VERGE, Teams, and your student email. Instructions for how to login with your student username and password are posted below. You will also find instructions for opening VERGE, Teams, and student email from Launchpad/Clever on this page.

Logging Into Your Student Chromebook

Open the Chromebook and make sure it is charged or plugged in.

1. You will need to enter the student email address:

Enter “s”+student number

For example, “s1234567"

2. Click “Next”

3. Enter student password:

Student passwords will default depending on grade:


7th grade - 12th grade (returning students) = password createdlast year
ALL new students to DeKalb County = dekalb+grade

After logging in, your student will be able to access district resources (for example: LaunchPad/Clever and VERGE) to participate in classes and complete school assignments.

Anytime your student sees the image below on the student Chromebook, enter the student username (s+student number - for example, s1234567) and student password.

Opening Launchpad/Clever

LAUNCHPAD is a student portal that provides access to the students’ Office 365 accounts as well as a multitude of digital academic resources which are provided by the district. With Launchpad, students are able to integrate technology in the classroom while maximizing instructional time. Launchpad is a dynamic tool that changes resources as the needs of the students change. It is easily accessible from any mobile device.

After successfully logging in to your student Chromebook, you can open Launchpad/Clever by clicking on the orange rocket at the bottom of the computer screen.

Using Verge

After successfully logging in to your student Chromebook, you can open VERGE by clicking on the orange and blue “V” at the bottom of the computer screen.

NOTE: You can also open VERGE from Launchpad/Clever

1. Click on the "V" at the bottom of the computer screen and then select ”Log in with DeKalb County School District account."

2. Once in VERGE, you will be on the landing page (pictured below).

3. Click on “Courses”

4. Select “All CoursesStudent Technology Support (14)

5. This will show you a list of your student’s courses.Student Technology Support (15)

6. From the list of courses, click on the course you want to open.Student Technology Support (16)

7. Once you are on the course, the directions and assignments for the student can be found on theOverviewpage.Student Technology Support (17)

8. A list of resources added to the course by the teacher can be found on theResourcespage.Student Technology Support (18)

9. If you need to upload a file when responding to an Assignment click in the middle of the boxAdd filesbox..Student Technology Support (19)

10. Use this menu to locate the file(s) you have already saved and want to upload.Student Technology Support (20)

Accessing Student Email

1. Open Launchpad/Clever on your student Chromebook.

If prompted, select “Login to Active Directory”

If prompted, sign in with your FULL email address

and click “Next.”

Your student email address is:

“S” + student[emailprotected]

For example,[emailprotected]

2. Click on the “Office365” app in Launchpad/Clever

3. Click on the “waffle” icon (9 dots) in the upper left-hand corner of the page.

This will show you the Microsoft apps youhave access to a student.

4. To open your student email, select “Outlook”

Using TEAMS

1. Open Launchpad/Clever on your student Chromebook.

If prompted, select “Login to Active Directory”

Student username is “s” + student number

3. Enter student password:

4. Click “Next”

5. Scroll down the Launchpad page until you seeProductivity Tools. Click theMicrosoft Teamsicon.Student Technology Support (30)

6. In the Apps panel in Microsoft Teams, clickTeams. A group of tiles will open. These are the Teams you are a member of. Locate your Class Team.(Be sure to ask your teacher for the name of your team.)

7. Remain on this page until your teacher begins the Teams Meeting.
